The Teen Choice Awards ended with many winners from One Direction to Fifth Harmony and even Little Mix! Their win for International Artist means more than meets the eye.
Their single Black Magic became a moderate hit in the states, going Gold for selling 500,000+ copies. You also have to include their top 15 Billboard 200 album that debuted and peaked at #13, thus putting them in the top tier with groups such as TLC and Destiny’s Child.
Songs such as Secret Love Song, have taken off and ruled the Oceanic hemisphere. It’s #1 reign in the Philippines prove their capable of making a hit that’s international worthy. In fact, although the girl group have moved on to their next era, the song is still making strides worldwide. This also goes for Hair and Black Magic who are still alive on the iTunes and physical charts.
Another sources of great news that prove the girls deserved that International Artist win is that their album Get Weird is poised to be certified double platinum soon in the U.K. along with a possible certification in Australia. Thus, making them one of the only girl groups with a multi-platinum album this decade.
Little Mix are literally one of the only groups who seem to have a distinct case of longevity and that can only mean good news.
So with all this superb news, hats off to the girls for trucking on to bigger things and congrats for the win. And also a bigger hats off to the mixers for being one of the most dedicated fandoms out there!
It’s truly wonderful seeing girl groups getting recognition for their hard work and this is only a tiny bit of proof that girl power is the bomb! Their needs to be more girl group credibility and that is the truth!
